Dear Friends and Collectors,
A new year begins with new projects and new hope for a better world, pandemic-free, where integrity and honor lives.
My new year starts with a new website that highlights my artist residencies around the world, pastels, and recent water landscape paintings from Southern California. I invite you to spend some time at www.gianne.org.
My seascape, Pacific Ocean at Salt Creek, was curated into the prestigious annual California Cool art auction supporting the Laguna Beach Art Museum. Director Malcolm Warner introduces the auction and the catalog is available on Artsy from January 12-February 6. I am honored to be in this show and give back to my hometown museum.
I will teach two online classes in January: a sold out introductory pastel class for Casa Romantica San Clemente Cultural Center and a history of pastels with techniques and demonstrations at the Laguna Beach Community and Susi Q Center on January 19. Click here to register. I’m very happy to be working with these two wonderful community hubs where I had major residency exhibitions.
Water landscapes are underway in the studio, using the Pacific Ocean as an endless source of inspiration and contemplation. Look for new pieces in upcoming versions of my monthly news, now called Monthly News. I find seascapes wonderful vehicles to celebrate the majesty, mystery and raw beauty of our world. They are new every day.
Wishing you all a safe and peaceful 2021,
Gianne
