Chateau Les Auberts
Loire Valley, France
These paintings were among the first pieces that I did once I decided to get out of the studio and paint out doors. In the summer of 2010, my teacher Christophe Gantou from Beaux Arts de Paris school was giving a few friends a week long workshop at a family property in the Loire Valley. The previous year, the group had worked outdoors on traditional long distance vistas. I announced that this year I wanted to paint my flowers. I had never dared to work with a subject that wasn't generally considered as contemporary art. After the first painting, he simply said "do another one". Five days and five paintings later, I had discovered that this was my true path, and I was painting what I had always held to be the sublime in my visual exsistance.
These paintings were exhibited in a small gallery in the heart of right bank gallery row in Paris, on the prestigious street, Avenue Matignon in the 8th district.
